The School Rewind is a time-loop short story that follows two freshmen, Connor and Zing, as they fight to escape a single school day that keeps replaying.

Zing is the underdog dodging the Three Js bully squad; Connor seems to have it all together until an online rumor surfaces claiming you can rewind an entire day with one click.

I wrote and self-published this in November 2021 while I was in middle school. It was my first completed and published book. The original version was about five pages long, which made it read more like a short story than a book. The following summer I went back and added a full second half told from Connor's point of view, walking through the same time loop from a completely different angle. That addition roughly doubled the length and gave the ending room to actually build instead of arriving abruptly.

Writing something at that age and actually finishing it mattered. Coming back later to recognize what the story was missing, and doing the work to fix it, mattered more.
